Have questions about Direct Primary Care? Check out these FAQ’s below!
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
WHAT IS DIRECT PRIMARY CARE?
Direct primary care is a new approach to patient care that strives to restore the physician-patient relationship by eliminating insurance. Explore our Direct Primary Care page to delve deeper.
WHAT ABOUT THINGS LIKE LABS, IMAGING, AND MEDICATION?
You may use your insurance plan for these or Thrive Family Medicine reduced pricing.
DO YOU MAKE REFERRALS TO OTHER SPECIALISTS?
Absolutely. Working with other specialists and helping to coordinate care are important aspects of high-quality primary care.
DO YOU PERFORM HOME VISITS?
Yes. We understand that sometimes, getting to the doctor’s office just isn’t possible. Dr. Taylor will assess the need for home visits on a case-by-case basis and schedule these appointments at her discretion. Please note, there is an additional fee for home visits.
QUESTIONS ABOUT INSURANCE?
DO YOU TAKE HEALTH INSURANCE?
No. Thrive Family Medicine will not bill insurance or contract with any private or public health insurance plans. Stepping away from insurance-based care is what allows affordable, transparent, up-front pricing and extended appointment times. Patients with insurance are still able to use their coverage for specialty visits, catastrophic care, as well as service such as labs, imaging, and medication. However, because we have negotiated discounted cash-pay prices for many of these services, some members prefer to pay directly instead of using their insurance.
CAN I USE FSA/HSA TO PAY FOR MY MEMBERSHIP?
YES. You can use your health or flexible care spending account.
IF I HAVE MEDICARE, CAN I JOIN?
YES! Your medicare insurance will not change. Your primary care will be simple and transparent. Dr. Taylor will be available to partner with you.
WHAT IF I AM NOT SURE DPC IS RIGHT FOR ME?
